Hello! Welcome to the Etown Boys Club C Squad Homepage!
First of all, let me just say that I am so excited about this upcoming season! I don’t know about all of you, but I am very ready for a cheerleading season that is closer to the “normal” we’ve all been missing. My name is Megan Carlisle and I will be Head Coach for C Squad for the 2022-23 season. My cheerleading experience includes several years of high school participation as a student athlete, and volunteering in several capacities with EBC for the past eight years. Professionally, before I made the decision to be a stay-at-home mom and homemaker, I worked in an early childhood education center, as a trainer for female seniors at a gym, and most extensively, as an Ophthalmic Assistant and Technician. I value honesty, organization, and open communication, and plan to utilize those traits when working with my squad, and their parents, for the duration of our season.
EBC's cheerleading program exists for the benefit, and development, of our student-athletes. My coaching philosophy involves mutual respect, commitment, and dedication on the part of each athlete to be prepared, participate fully, and to grow as a cheerleader. This program focuses on character building, while improving cheerleading skills. Key to this development is good discipline, strong work ethic, loyalty, honesty, and teamwork. I will require that all athletes strive to exhibit these characteristics. I will encourage them to set goals, remain focused on them, and ultimately, to achieve them. The primary purpose of this cheerleading program is for each student-athlete to have fun, and enjoy themselves, while maintaining good order, discipline, and safety. I would like this program to enrich and better the lives of each and every one of these girls. I'd love for them to walk away with memories that they can treasure for a lifetime.
Practices will begin in early August. They will be held outdoors on the grounds of the community center, located on Poplar Street. When school is back in session, our practice will move indoors. They will be held in the local school gyms. Exact times, dates and locations will be announced at a later date.
All C Squad cheerleaders are required to cheer for C Squad football games. Games are held on either Saturday, or Sunday, and there is a game nearly every weekend for the duration of football season. Some games will require light travel to other schools. As soon as the football schedule is finalized, we will share it with all of you so that you can get the dates on your calendars. Aside from cheering at games, we will be taking part in four competitions (our own hosted competition, as well as three others that will require light travel). Details concerning competitions will be released once all plans have been finalized.
Hopefully this introduction was able to answer some of the questions that you might have had, and if not, don't worry! If your daughter becomes a member of EBC’s 2022-23 C Squad, there will be plenty of e-mails in the future covering topics like expectations I have of the girls for the season, things that I'd like them to be working on this summer in preparation for the upcoming season, and information regarding a private Facebook Group or Group app that I will be setting up for this squad specifically to aide in the quick dispensation of information, and to connect squad parents so that open communication, and cooperation, can be achieved easily. I look forward to meeting all of you and getting to know your girls!
Thanks for checking in!
